Quiet Your Mind

Do You find your day is filled with mindless chatter, never ending, talking relentlessly about what happened yesterday, what might happen tomorrow, how will you cope, why does life do this to me, and on......... and on.......and on! And I'm not talking about actual conversations here, I'm talking about all the thoughts swirling around in your head. They bombard you on a daily basis, in fact by now you're probably so used to it happening, that you're not even aware that it is going on.

Itt is thoughts that are the precurser to all the things that happen in your life. So if your thoughts are all over the place on a regular basis, then there's a very good chance that your life is too.

There is a way to calm this down....

We are so used to allowing our thoughts to run away with us, that we may not have even considered there is an alternative...

It's simply a question of reprogramming your brain, and one of the easiest ways to achieve this is to quiet your mind for just a short period every day. First thing in the morning is ideal, before your brain gets too stuck in to all the things it needs to sort out.

Find somewhere comfortable to sit, wear comfortable clothes, and give yourself something to focus on. Preferably a sound that is soft and relaxing, I use white noise, but you can try different sounds until you find whatever suits you. And then give that sound all your attention for roughly 15 - 20 mins. In the beginning your mind will still run off, it doesn't know anything else, so you have to bear with it, and gently pull it back every time you realise it is wandering, and above all don't berate yourself for doing it wrong, or not being able to make it work. This is a process and a journey, if you manage 30 seconds of focusing on your sound the first time, you can consider that to be an excellent result.

Do this for 30 days, and see what happens, and if you forget, or don't want to one day, it doesn't matter, just start again the next day.
